Mate told me last night at end of game jerome never came to close as he was getting some right s**t from our own fans, yes he missed a few chances, but messi would not have scored many the way we created chances this season ? :kro:

It's sad, I give him stick on here I'll hold my hands up but I just think it's time for both sides to part ways, he needs a fresh start and so do we. 3 goals a season is useless and to think I was mocked for saying this year and 3 years ago dj Campbell could cut it in the prem.

Didn't he actually lead the club in assists... He didn't get many chances himself, but at least he was creating them for others.

We saw last season that he is capable of scoring goals when paired with another centre forward and the team plays to his strengths. This happened far too infrequently this season, unfortunately.

I feel sorry for him for the abuse he receives from certain sections of supporters (ironic term for them), and wouldn't blame him if he wants away desperately.

He has taken what i consider a lot of unfair stick this season.
whilst he does still have many faults i do believe he as been made to look a lot worse asked to play the lone striker role which i truely believe is a role he cannot play.
But put him up front with another player and he really does have his good points No he isnt the best controller of a ball or finisher which have been highligthed playing the role he as but his pace is enough to make defenders worry about him and could be more than usefull in the championship .

You make TWO good points..... he is NOT the best ball controller & cant finish....So why do we need him next season. We need a goal scorer to put the ball in the net ......NOT some one who JUST runs around like a headless chicken. Defences are aware of his pace BUT all so know he CANT score .... easy to play against CJ.

Here we go again...if the guy was a finisher he wouldn't be at Blues...he'd be playing for a Top 6 side. He's had a bad season admittedly, but its a team thing - 37 goals all season and don't start me off on the 1 up front argument which has hardly helped. Blues NEED Jerome next season, he'll get his quota but others need to help aswell.

Rubbish - other teams outside the top six have goalscorers with 15 plus+

And that states more about the phillosophy of Ian Holloway compared to Alex McLeish.

Jerome played at Tottenham whilst clearly injured and still put a decent shift in, the week before he was on crutches and couldn't play against Fulham. I didn't notice Derbyshire or Phillips doing any better in an easier game at home, also can you see Zigic playing with an injury, I don't think so he has had tests , scans and all sorts and still they cant find anything wrong with him, my guess is he doesnt give a s*** about the club and could easily have been playing.

Lay off Jerome I know he is not a natural finisher but he gives his all for the club unlike others and his all round game has improved a lot this season, he can hold the ball up now, he wins loads of headers and could be flicking it on for others except he is on his own up front so what do people expect of him ....miracles. Yes he should be better at scoring one on ones but thats about it.

The fact he got abuse from some so called fans is a disgrace as he gives everything he can week in week out unlike MANY others at the club.

So get behind him and with a quality striker alongside him next season they would take the championship by storm and score loads.

I agree

Drogba would have got single figures in our team this season - poor football - lack of regular partner

That is the whole picture ! not simply saying he is paid to score goals score them !

Some of the abuse he has got this year has been pitful and pathetic and very un blues fans like

I point all the abusers to the Fulham game - i rest my case

Chances. It is that simple. DJ Campbell had a hatful, that's why he scored plenty.

Explain the lack of goals in the games he didn't play, explain the goals he scored last season.

why cnt u people not see that ? look at the whole picture ..

I wish he'd leave so I don't have to argue his case to THICK supporters.

Rubbish, Drogba would have told the rest of the team where to pass and made sure of it.

For 1000 fans read 100 max, I was in the upper tier and I clapped him and the rest of the team to the echo!
Spurs were goading us when we were sent down but do you know what? ten minutes later they were clapping their heads off as we sung and chanted for ten solid fans.
Real fans do not boo their own players especially not away from home!!

People see to think getting a striker that can bag goals at will grow on trees ummmmmmm THEY DONT!!

Name a striker who we could get for 8m max who you could GUARENTEE will do it for us. You cant. It's all about managing risk. Now in Jerome we have a good forward at least above average championship material so why let him go somewhere else. We shouldnt be looking to let him go we should be looking to get another striker probably two.

Jerome's goals kept us up in our first season. If we had Hleb and or McFadden creating more chances for him Im sure he would have delivered enough again.

Maybe if you get of his back he might score more.

for me he is a confidence player. Who is out of confidence, however he has never run away from the challenge and for most of his blues career he has been played out of position. At cardiff they played to a young forwards strengyh, through balls for his to run on to facing goal. answer 19 of them.

At blues he has always been the main CF getting flick on's playing with his back to goal.

IT IS NOT HIS GAME!!!!

I know he is not a finisher, but we have managed to get hold of a bright young prospect and make him a poorer player and ripped out his confidence. We have missed a trick with CJ and someone will get a player if they play to his strenghts for a good fee.

Stoke wanted him and feeding off flick ons, using his pace and strength bearing down on goal through balls, a good coach will get a good player mark my words!!!!!

Jerome scored 18 goals in the Championship for Cardiff before Blues signed him.
That tells me that he can do it at the level we are going to be playing next season so it's best that we keep him.

What our coaches have to work out is how to utilise him properly so that he can do the same for us. Playing on his own upfront in a 451 he is unlikely to get even close to double figures so we need to change the way we play in time for August 6th.
